Teen Stabbed On Kent Train

A teenager remains in a critical condition after he was stabbed on a train during a fight in Kent. Police were called to Gillingham train station just before 6.15pm yesterday.

The 17 year old victim, from Dartford, was found with wounds to his chest and abdomen and was given emergency treatment by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the nearby Medway Hospital where he has undergone surgery.

The train, the 6.24 Gillingham to London service was held at the station, and the station itself was closed while forensic evidence was gathered and was handed back to the station operator at 1.11am.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "The victim of this attack is now in a critical condition in hospital. We believe that up to three black men may have taken a taxi from Gillingham to south-east London shortly after the stabbing took place.

"We would very much like to hear from any taxi driver or company in the Medway area who undertook such a journey last night.''
